The Rug

My dad used to buy Persian rugs

And I never knew why only that

He loved them

And I loved him

And lately as I walk through markets a world away

When I can’t hold his hand anytime I want

If I see a Persian rug I always check the price

I’ll never buy another type of rug and I hope

He never does either
